Ken Maskell

Ken Maskell graduated from the University of Alberta in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and began his career as a project engineer for Allsopp Morgan Engineering, Edmonton, Alberta. In 1988, Ken struck out on his own, creating Maskell Engineering Ltd. and soon merging with Anthony T. Grice & Associates, also of Edmonton, to become Grice Maskell Engineering Ltd. As a senior engineer for the firm, Ken has served as responsible engineer on projects varying from correctional centers to small retail outlets.

In 1993, Ken relocated to Calgary joining forces with Reid Crowther Engineering of Calgary, and becoming the senior engineer/manager of a large electrical division. Notable projects included the Bonnybrook Waste Water Treatment Plant completion and the Peter Lougheed Hospital expansion and renovation.

Ken Maskell commenced his own company of Maskell Engineering in 1999 as an effective method to provide electrical consulting services. In 2001 Maskell Engineering created an alliance with Beaubien Glover engineering of Edmonton. The sale of the Edmonton office resulted in the birth of MP&P engineering.

Ken Maskell is a founding Principal of MP&P engineering, and has over 30 years of experience in the design of a wide range of building types, but with a unique focus on security and institutional design. KenÕs security experience extends to most of the correctional facilities throughout Western Canada, including the current new Edmonton Remand Centre.

Ken plays a prominent role in managing the strategic growth of the company’s operations including marketing, major project planning, and client relationships. His experience and depth of knowledge in the delivery of complex, multiphase projects have made him an invaluable resource for in-house peer review and support. His technical competency is exemplified in the projects he has led and his detailed knowledge provides remarkable leadership to the staff and clients.

The success of the firm resulted from his clear commitment to design excellence.

Mauro Plenzik

Mauro has enjoyed over 19 years of experience in the electrical field, 13 years in the engineering discipline, and has developed many technical skills. Following formal training from SAIT, Mauro graduated with the Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma and acquired experience in medium/high voltage maintenance in the oil & gas sector, and the moor rewind shop.

After successfully completing a B.Sc. at the University of Calgary, Mauro joined the Reid Crowther team as an Electrical Engineer and project coordinator. Since then, he joined forces with Maskell Engineering, which then evolved into Beaubien Glover Maskell Engineering, with Mauro as one of the principals, and now MP&P as a founding principal.

At MP&P engineering, Mauro strives and continues to develop solid electrical designs coupled with project management and leadership skills for health care facilities, government projects, educational institutes, and large commercial facilities and manufacturing facilities.

Mauro is a meticulous and detail oriented designer with a thorough understanding of buildings engineering, and combines business acumen and skill to lead many of the major projects. Recognized for his leadership style and excellent communication skills, Mauro encourages input from all stakeholders, to ensure a client driven design is achieved.

His field and hands-on experience has proven invaluable, as that experience assists in the design phase of a project to ensure that what is being visualized on paper can transpire physically. Mauro has also performed project supervision, system evaluations, low and high voltage systems testing, commissioning, preventative maintenance, and equipment installations in the institutional and industrial sector. With MauroÕs professional involvement in many medium and large scale projects, he is dedicated to finding solutions to challenging engineering problems that arise with each project.

Kevin Dube

Kevin has enjoyed over 30 years of experience in the electrical field, 12 years in the engineering discipline, and has developed many technical skills. Following formal training from SAIT, Kevin graduated with a Journeyman certificate in Electrical and acquired experience in medium/high voltage residential, commercial and industrial applications.

His field and hands-on experience has proven invaluable, assisting him in further developing estimating skills to procure projects in Calgary and surrounding areas, and monitoring all associated costs relative to construction through the course of the construction period.

Kevin began his apprenticeship in Calgary in 1977. Upon receiving his Journeyman’s certification Kevin worked in Calgary on a number of Commercial and Residential sites as a site electrician. He soon became acting Forman on a number of medium to large Commercial projects which included TD Square renovations, Royal Bank Tower Upgrade, new Olds Hospital and the Old’s College student Residence, which involved project equipment procurement, project supervision, and the managing of up to 30 on site electricians at any given time.
