Crowfoot CO-OP Food Store

Back to Project Index
The project was a renovation of an existing 74,000 square foot grocery store, to create a new 10,000 square foot CRU tenant bay at the front of the building and renovate the remainder of the store to accommodate relocation of each department within the store and accommodate the new refrigeration and department equipment.

The design was completed prior to project start however the construction was phased to ensure that the store would remain open and operational throughout the duration of the construction.
The electrical design consisted of power distribution for mechanical and owner provided equipment, and design of the lighting and fire alarm system, communications, CCTV and security systems infrastructure. Cable tray was run throughout the store to provide a central path for the CCTV and commucications systems installed by the owners contractors. The fire alarm system was replaced with a new addressable fire alarm system as the existing system had reached the end of life.
Linear fluorescent lighting was provided for the aisles between the shelving. The produce area consisted of high bay lighting for ambient lighting for the produce area with track lighting around the produce displays to highlight the product. Both the high bay lighting and the track lighting was dimmable to provide a system which the lighting levels could be controlled and adjusted based on owner input. The lighting control system was designed in separate zones to turn on individual sections of the store based on different schedules for each department.
