Project Description
The project consisted of 300,000 square feet of commercial office space. The electrical design consists of the electrical distribution, lighting and lighting control system, security and communications infrastructure, coordination with mechanical systems, and furniture and movable wall systems manufacturers. The project is designed to obtain LEED certification for Commercial Interiors.
Summary & Discourse on Design Approach
The electrical distribution system and communications systems are comprised of a plug and play system in the outer workspace areas for open workspaces and offices to allow for reconfiguration of furniture and offices with minimal revisions to the electrical system to accommodate the changes.
Recessed fluorescent indirect/direct lighting is installed in the outer workspace areas for open workspaces and offices. Recessed linear fluorescent lighting is installed in the wood ceiling in the elevator lobby with LED cove lighting around the perimeter of the wood ceiling. The staff lounge areas consist of LED recessed down lights and some suspended pendants to provide lighting above the islands. Meeting room lighting is a combination of recessed fluorescent indirect/direct lighting and LED recessed down lights.

Demonstrated Innovation & Creativity
The lighting control system consists of addressable modules for each luminaire to allow for flexibility of zones for lighting control. Occupancy sensors are installed in offices and meeting rooms to turn the lighting off when these spaces are unoccupied. The open workspace areas, lounges and elevator lobbies are schedule controlled during business hours and controlled via occupancy sensors after hours. Daylight harvesting is incorporated in the lighting control system to dim the luminaires around the perimeter of each floor.
