Esso Avitat

Back to Project Index
The Esso Avitat terminal building was renovated to enhance the experience of the passengers and clients that utilize their services.

The core of the Air Terminal Building was completely renovated with new finishes, a stone fire place in the waiting area, a new lounge area and the security desk now strategically located to service the new limousine access to airside. The vision was to enhance day-lighting and views towards the runway and the mountains to the west. The lighting was very important as the proper light levels needed to be achieved in a two storey space. The lighting needed to accommodate the security desk that shared the same space as the waiting area. This was cleverly accomplished with T5HO fixtures mounted in the bottom of a replica wing span that is an architectural feature on the ceiling. One of the airplane hangars was also renovated with new Metal Halide lighting that replaced the old yellow HPS fixtures. With a new epoxy floor and very good color rendering the hangar light levels are a step above most.
